There will be 2 levels for the basement. The lower basement (B2) is off limits to the tenant, and they don’t even have the option to activate that button even if they were to try to use their smart key. The button will simply not light up. There is noting in B2 that the tenant will benefit from visiting. Only those with malicious intent would do what they can to get to B2. One of the things in B2 will be the gas generator that would provide for electricity in the event of a grid outage. This is a safety issue, and molesting the generator will do you no good, especially in the event of a power failure.
B1 will allow access, but only for the 5 pairs of double land machines. A tenant can only use one washer or one dryer at a time. Since they are living in an SRO, I will imagine that they don’t have too many loads to worry about. B1 will also have the utilities coming in, and this of course should be of no interest to a tenant. Last is an elevator room which is essential for getting around on the floors.
